Shock stats! Top six most creative players in the Premier League

6. Steven Gerrard – Liverpool – 52 chances created

As he hurtles towards his 34th birthday, there is little to suggest that Steven Gerrard is letting up, with the Liverpool man having created 52 goal scoring chances this season – the sixth best in the top flight. Of those, 10 have resulted in goals.

5. Moussa Sissoko – Newcastle United – 62 chances created

This season has been yet another turbulent one in the recent history of Newcastle United, yet despite their rollercoaster form, there have been some stand out performers for the Toon Army. One such player is Moussa Sissoko. The Frenchman has come in for criticism at times this year, but has created 62 scoring opportunities for the Magpies.

4. Mesut Ozil – Arsenal – 63 chances created

Arsenal’s club-record signing has been a figure of criticism of late, with his recent performances contrasting the vast sum the Gunners spent on him in the summer. Irrespective of that, his overall performances and impact in his debut campaign cannot be questioned, with Ozil creating 63 scoring chances for his team-mates, nine which have resulted in goals.

3. Luis Suarez – Liverpool – 65 chances created

It seems as though everything Luis Suarez touches turns to gold this season, and when he is not scoring goals, he is providing them for his Liverpool team-mates. So far this season the Uruguayan boasts 23 league goals and 17 assists in just 22 appearances

2. David Silva – Man City – 67 chances created

Sometimes overshadowed by the plethora of world-class talent surrounding him, few can question the overall influence of David Silva at Man City. The diminutive Spaniard has created 67 scoring chances this season for the free-scoring City, of which eight have resulted in goals.

1. Eden Hazard – Chelsea – 70 chances created

Eden Hazard is enjoying arguably his finest season as a professional footballer, with the Chelsea star turning in performances which have seen him compared with megastars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. It should therefore be little surprise to see him topping this list, with the Belgian having created 70 chances for his Blues’ team-mates.
