Manchester United have been given a boost in the hunt for Italy defender Davide Astori after he admitted he wants to move to the Premier League.
Astori has been watched by United scouts on a handful of occasions this season, with David Moyes said to be lining up a summer move for the player.
And despite rival interest from AC Milan and Roma, the Cagliari ace appears to favour a switch to Old Trafford – after confirming his desire to play in England.
‘I am very attracted to the Premier League,’ he told Gazzetta Dello Sport.
‘It’s a beautiful league with many great teams. I would like to play there certainly.’
Cagliari are resigned to losing Astori at the end of the season, and have put a £10million price tag on his head.
Moyes is a great fan of the defender |
The 27-year-old, who was a target for Southampton and Fulham in January, has previously stated that he wants his future sorted out before the World Cup kicks off in Brazil.
